Among the major problems being felt by our country, health care related are one of those who needs immediate intervention. Since, access to health care services is a universal need, not only by the privilege people but also the poor.
Being a Nurse in a Community is a tough job. You have to immerse yourself with the people from different walks of life. As a front liners of the department of health , we are tasked to deliver health care services to the community where we are assigned. As a nurse, It is a must that you have all the resources that you need to help your client improve their health and well being. Eradication of poverty and hunger, promotion of gender equality, reduction of child mortality, and improvement of maternal health are the most important duty we need accomplish.
Unfortunately in some areas, they do not receive all these due to lack of funds for health from the government. Most of the under privileged Filipinos rely on the government in times of peril and it’s somewhat frustrating to see them suffer just because they could not afford to buy medicines. I remember myself buying medicines for my clients because of this kind of scenario is hard to take and I know i had to do it not because I am caught in the situation but because it’s what a normal person would do, to help people if you have the capability to do it.
